Happy Holidays from our family to yours

This time last year we were still talking about moving into our new home on Duck Street.
We’ re fully settled in now, and get plenty of live entertainment from neighbors who serenade us with pop country music and drivers who seem to think there is a checkered flag waiting at the intersection.
As folks who care a great deal about literacy and helping writers find an audience, we’ ve been fortunate to host several local authors with book signings. It’ s created something of a waiting list for these scribes to get involved, and we couldn’ t be happier. Anything to get more people reading.
As with all businesses, there’ s been a bit of turnover, people coming in and going out and even a promotion.
Katie Bean took over as general manager in May. She completed her 275th escape room, which is good because, if she didn’ t wouldn’ t that mean she’ s still stuck in one of those rooms somewhere? She also broke down and got her first pair of progress glasses?“ Time takes everybody out. Time’ s undefeated.”— Rocky Balboa in“ Creed”( 2015).
Sarah Brown is our newest marketing associate. She built a 20-session“ Alice in Wonderland” inspired DND Campaign to play with her family. She got married in October, built a reptile rescue for exotic reptiles that became famous in the US... Then woke up and got a new Tattoo added to the collection.
Jessica Marshall hasn’ t been scared away yet. This year, Jessica decided to become an auto body mechanic after several mishaps with bumpers and fenders. She also adopted two scorpions who followed her home from work one day. She’ s considering adopting a robotic puppy after meeting Oklahoma State’ s robo-pup, Pistol Pup.
Correspondent Jennifer Jalbert is still a champion of local nonprofits and businesses. Soon after turning 50, Jennifer promptly blew out her shoulder, had thumb surgery, exploded a nerve in her spine and broke three toes! Winning“ Best Hairstylist” and“ Best Salon” in the News Press Reader’ s Choice Awards made everything better... until the pain meds wore off. The free cooler tote bag Jennifer got for signing up for AARP has really come in handy for those ice packs.
Because of NIL, the portal and the NCAA’ s unyielding ignorance of how the world works now, sportswriter Braden Bush has probably written more court stories than any crime reporters in the area.
Sometimes executive editor Beau Simmons gets asked to make public appearances and this terrifies him, but if he’ d get a hair cut( and beard trim) more than once every two months he’ d probably feel better about it.
We still won’ t let Susie Glasscock quit. She knows too much.
