Calat family learning to lead on national
equality and diversity project
Calat family learning is leading on a national
project over the next year to develop equality and
diversity in family learning
Staff will be working to improve access to the
hardest-to-reach clients, narrow achievement gaps,
and promote inclusion.
Calat has been successful in bidding for a grant
from the Skills Funding Agency’s Equality and Diversity
Innovation Fund, and are one of 41 projects nationally,
out of 243 applications, to be awarded this funding.
The bid was written in partnership with
Campaign for Learning (CfL), a national charity which
champions the cause of lifelong learning, and works
“for a society where learning is at the heart of social
inclusion”.
The project will be developed and delivered
nationally through CfL and the Family Learning Local
Authority Group (FLLAG), a national network of family
learning managers chaired by Fiona Spargo-Mabbs,
Calat curriculum team manager for English, maths and
family learning.
