DANTE DIFRANCO Salt Comparison Egg Float ! I am doing a science experiment about what salt, pink or white, will take the least amount of salt to float an egg. My hypothesis is that the pink salt will take the least amount of salt because it is more dense. ! The materials I am using are: one egg, warm water, white table, Himalayan pink salt, cup, 1/2 table spoon, 1/4 measuring cup, scale, stirring spoon. ! My procedure is: I filled a cup with warm water. I added one egg then weighed and added a tiny bit of white salt at a time and stirred till the egg floated. I did the same thing with the pink salt with a different egg. !The independent variable is the pink and white salt. The dependent variable is how much salt it takes to float the egg. The constants are the water and eggs. ! The results were the pink salt takes less salt to float an egg. My conclusion is my results support my hypothesis because the pink salt took the least amount of salt to float an egg because it is more dense. It has to do with the real world because if a boat is in a ocean it will float more than in a lake.
