KYLE CHENG Moldy Bread ! Im doing an experiment on growing mold on different kinds of bread. My question is: Which kind of bread will get moldy first? My hypothesis is that the bakery Italian bread will get moldy first. The materials that I am using are two pieces of rye, wheat, multi-grain, and bakery Italian bread, eight Ziploc bags, and a marker. My procedure is: step 1. Label the bags with the bread names. step 2. Put one piece of each kind of bread into the bags. step 3. Place each bag in the same place, same conditions, and room temperature> step 4. Check and record each day until you decide to end the experiment. The independent variable is that each kind of bread has a number of preservatives. The dependent variable is the mold because the mold affects the bread. The controlled variables are the room temperature, sealed up bags, and same amount of light. The results are bakery Italian bread was the bread that got moldy first. My data supported my hypothesis because bakery Italian bread got moldy first. I learned in order to keep food fresh food you need preservatives in your food.
