How to use SEED
Contact
Users have four different options to find data through SEED.
1. Look through all data in SEED through the 'Dataset' option on the
SEED menu.
2. Find data by entering a search term in the search box (like
‘petroleum’)
3. Find data associated with a location or region. Users can do this by
either:
•
Selecting an option from the ‘LGA’ (Local Government Area)
dropdown menu and click search or,
•
Search through the SEED Map. Selecting Map at the top of the page,
you can zoom into a particular location, or select the ‘I want to…’
button and then ‘search for a location.’ Then use ‘I want to… search
for datasets on the map’ to find relevant data.

The SEED mapping Tool
With SEED, you can search for environmental data and view it on the
in-built map. Users can overlay different types of data to gain a more
complete picture of environmental conditions in a particular location.
The user can then export and print the map to distribute findings.
SEED also provides resources that assist the user to understand the
data, and links to the data in various formats should users wish to
download information.
Coming to SEED
The SEED website will undergo some changes in the next few months,
with an exciting new design being applied on the website. There will also
be a redevelopment of the user interface and interaction on SEED to
improve accessibility and simplify the interface to the data.
