Fine Science Resource Material
By Dr John Elfick
Teachers of all K-6, K-12 and 7-12 classes of Science
should find this site really useful. It was developed by
Dr John Elfick of the School of Education, University of
Queensland, and has recently been expanded.
Please note that all the material in his staff website, 'School Science Lessons' is available free to all
teachers, and nothing in it is subject to copyright. So teachers are invited to copy anything in it for science teaching.
However, nothing in it may be sold for commercial purposes because the original contents were provided for him by
UNESCO Paris headquarters, when he retired there in 1999.
Several years ago John sent some of this material for inclusion in Science Education News, entirely free of course, aimed
to assist teachers by providing information across a broad range of Science categories. He has now expanded this,
providing authoritative information across an even wider range of topics. His 2019 inclusions are: Commercial supplies
by subject; Herbs Spices, Fruits; Bushfood; 10.0 Human reproduction; 11.11.0 Drug abuse; and Preparing chemical
substances.
However, the material he has written covers science and agriculture lessons for both primary and secondary schools
with information on useful chemicals, equipment and relevant websites including Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry,
Electronics, Geology, Health, Herbs, Microbiology, Physics, Physiology and Safety in the Laboratory.
To see the full range and quality of Dr Elfick’s work, teachers are encouraged to view the following site: http://www.
