knowledge activities Have a Babysitting 101 Class where YW learn how to change diapers, feed babies and toddlers, learn games and ideas for playing with and taking care of children. Teach basic sewing skills, having the girls sew something simple like a headband, scarf, or bag. Have someone teach about basic money management like budgeting. Have a laundry marathon where girls have to remove stains, wash clothing by hand, hang to dry, and iron the clothing - would be fun if you used items that grandmothers or ancestors would have used to wash their clothing. Makes our washers and dryers look heavenly! Invite specific members of your ward to come teach a specific skill that they have such a baking bread, singing or leading music, yoga, hair styling, nutrition, etc. Learn basic first aid and CPR. Have a “Talk Night” where girls each prepare a 3-4 minute talk to share during the activity and to practice their talk-giving skills. Leaders can give advice on how to give a good talk. Host a “Career Night”. Find out what careers the YW are interested and find ward members in those fields to come and share information about their experiences and education. Play Scripture Jeopardy to test your knowledge of the scriptures. Learn about interior design and have the girls make mini rooms of their
