BelSU to enhance corrosion-resistant technologies
Belgorod National Research University( BelSU) has been awarded a substantial grant from the Russian Science Foundation, aimed at advancing the production of corrosionresistant equipment crucial for the chemical, gas, and oil industries. The project, titled“ Stainless Steel and Manufacturing Technologies for Transporting Aggressive and High-Purity Gases,” seeks to enhance the production readiness of stainless steel products. The Oskol Metallurgical Engineering Plant Joint-Stock Company( OZMM JSC) will serve as the industrial partner for this research, which will be conducted at BelSU’ s Research Institute of Materials Science and Innovative Technologies. The project aims to develop innovative smelting technologies for AISI 316L steel with varied chemical compositions, assess their corrosion resistance, and create prototypes for components used in transporting aggressive substances across various industries, including chemicals, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and electronics.
EWM launches Tetrix XQ 300 SiC puls
With the Tetrix XQ 300 SiC, EWM has launched a new TIG welding machine with silicon carbide semiconductors. Users benefit from higher energy efficiency, lower heat generation and a longer service life. Compared to conventional transistors, they have significantly lower switching losses, ensuring precise current control and thus enabling efficient conversion of the energy used into welding power. This not only reduces power consumption but also excess heat. This reduces the cooling requirements and extends the service life of the electronics. The Tetrix XQ 300 SiC puls is well-suited for demanding industrial environments. It delivers exceptional performance through high temperature resistance, minimal wear, and consistent operational stability.
POSCO INTERNATIONAL signs an MOU with Ulaanbaatar
POSCO INTERNATIONAL signed a memorandum of understanding( MOU) with the city of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, at Ulaanbaatar City Hall to promote a heating supply project utilizing sewage heat. Under this MOU, POSCO INTERNATIONAL will drive the plan to supply waste heat from the central sewage treatment plant in Ulaanbaatar to nearby redeveloped residential areas. Following a joint feasibility study to be completed by H1 of 2026, the project is expected to move into full-scale implementation in the second half of the year under a 15-year Build-Operate-Transfer( BOT) model, provided its economic and technical viability is confirmed. Upon completion, the project will provide district heating to a newly constructed residential complex of approximately 4,000 households.
