Industry Update
Langley Alloys acquires Offshore Stainless Supplies
Langley Alloys has acquired Offshore Stainless Supplies Ltd, adding precision cold-drawn bar production to the group’ s existing strengths in specialist alloy stockholding, piping packages, inspection and testing, CNC machining, and metals processing. Offshore Stainless Supplies has built a strong reputation for producing precision cold-drawn bars in stainless steels and high-performance alloys, processing material up to 4 " in diameter across round, hexagonal, square, and rectangular profiles. The business serves demanding applications in oil & gas, marine, medical, aerospace, and general engineering, sectors where dimensional accuracy and material traceability are non-negotiable. The acquisition brings together three complementary businesses: Langley Alloys, which holds extensive stocks of high-performance alloys and offers inspection, testing, and CNC machining; Copeland & Craddock, which provides sub-contract peeling, straightening, and grinding services to the metals supply chain; and Offshore Stainless, whose colddrawing capability closes the gap between raw bar stock and finished precision component.
Körber’ s ASRS solution allows HH Stainless to significantly reduce and save on labour costs by minimizing handling and walking distances, while increasing picking efficiency. Furthermore, the vertical storage design maximises space utilisation through a compact honeycomb structure, reducing space needs and enabling higher storage density in HH Stainless facility. The project involves the design and implementation of an Automated Storage and Retrieval System( ASRS) for longlength stainless steel pipes at HH Stainless’ s facility located in Singapore. Körber’ s solution features a stacker crane with a single load handling device, specifically engineered to manage cassettes storing long products and pipe products.
Venus Pipes secures stainless piping contract
Venus Pipes has contributed to India’ s first semiconductor assembly and test facility with its stainless steel piping solutions used within its AHU and HVAC systems. In semiconductor manufacturing environments, HVAC infrastructure is critical to maintaining cleanroom stability, controlled airflow, and precisely controlled environmental conditions. The reliability of this system depends heavily on the integrity of the piping network that supports it. Venus Pipes had the opportunity to develop piping solutions that are an integral part of the facility’ s environmental control infrastructure. Projects of this size demand consistency, precision, and consistent quality, which it was pleased to uphold. Being a part of such a historic semiconductor project demonstrates its commitment to supporting India’ s advanced industrial growth with solid infrastructure solutions.
