Seurat qualify 6K Additive ’ s 316L powder
6K Additive has announced that Seurat Technologies has qualified 6K Additive ’ s 316L stainless steel powder for the company ’ s Area Printing™ platform . Both organisations are keenly focused on sustainable additive manufacturing . 6K Additive consumes far less energy and significantly lowers carbon emissions in its manufacturing process compared to conventional atomisation by leveraging sustainable feedstock sources , utilising a highly efficient microwave plasma process , and delivering 90 %+ yields . Powered by 100 % green energy , Seurat is reinventing and reshoring manufacturing with their Area Printing technology developed at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory . This 3D metal printing technology delivers high-precision , high-volume , decarbonised manufacturing , which Seurat anticipates can directly mitigate as much as 100 million tons of CO 2 by 2030 . 6 K ’ s UniMelt platform offers multifaceted sustainability benefits like no other material production platform in the world .
BE , Temasek , and EnterpriseSG sign MoU
Breakthrough Energy ( BE ), the climate organisation founded by Bill Gates ; Temasek , a global investment company headquartered in Singapore ; and Enterprise Singapore ( EnterpriseSG ), the government agency championing enterprise growth have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish Breakthrough Energy Fellows – Southeast Asia ( BE Fellows – SEA ) with a joint funding commitment over the next three years . The programme will be helmed out of Singapore and marks the first BE Fellows hub outside of the United States . Announced at Ecosperity Week 2024 , BE Fellows – SEA will be the first regional hub in BE ’ s existing signature global Fellows programme . It aims to tackle early-stage barriers to climate technology innovation in Southeast Asia and accelerate the development of climate technologies that have the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gases at scale and contribute towards global net-zero targets . The partnership will leverage the pioneering climate technology platform established by Breakthrough Energy , Temasek ’ s thought leadership , expertise , and networks as a global investor anchored in Asia , and Enterprise
Singapore ’ s commitment to drive startup development and nurture deep tech startups in Singapore and the region . The complementary combination of the strengths and capabilities of the partners will enable the creation of a strategic and novel programme that can help address the critical innovation gap in the development of deep-tech climate technologies here in Southeast Asia .
Outokumpu , Q Power explore methane production
Outokumpu will explore the potential of carbon capture utilisation ( CCU ) technology as means to utilise the company ’ s emissions as raw materials to produce new products such as e-fuels . As part of these efforts , Outokumpu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU ) with Q Power to explore the production of synthetic methane at Outokumpu ’ s largest site in Tornio , Finland . The agreement targets to establish an in-depth understanding of the ecosystem needed around synthetic methane production from technical , financial , and commercial aspects . The project supports Outokumpu ’ s decarbonisation targets as it explores the possibility to capture carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide from the company ’ s production processes and use them as raw material to produce synthetic methane . The primary aim would be to produce e-fuel to reduce reliance on fossil sources such as LNG .
