Weld Australia signs a MoU with ASSDA to 3 million tons of stainless and carbon steel hot-rolled coils, covering approximately 35 % of Marcegaglia group’ s total coil and slab demand, primarily supplying the Italian downstream facilities of Marcegaglia, for different applications.
MWL approved vendor for Engineers India
Weld Australia and the Australian Stainless Steel Development Association( ASSDA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding( MoU) to strengthen the collaboration across Australia’ s welding, fabrication and stainless steel sectors. The MoU establishes a reciprocal membership arrangement that will expand access to events, technical resources, education and networking opportunities for members of both organisations. Under the agreement, members of both organisations will gain access to a broader range of benefits, including discounted events, professional development opportunities, technical resources, industry publications, and expanded networking opportunities.
Marcegaglia signs contract with Danieli
Mangalam Worldwide Limited( MWL) is now as an approved vendor for Engineers India Ltd, demonstrating the company has met strict checks related to quality control, technical performance, and safety compliance. For MWL, this step strengthens its position as a reliable partner for large-scale projects. The company has stated that its focus remains on delivering consistent quality and maintaining strong relationships with industrial clients. MWL operates as a fully integrated specialty stainless steel mill, giving it strong control over its production process. The company has an in-house melting shop, allowing it to manage raw materials and production more efficiently. This setup helps ensure consistent quality across all stainless steel grades. The mill is designed to be agile and flexible, producing a wide range of stainless steel types, including austenitic, ferritic, martensitic, duplex, super duplex, and high alloy steels.
Marcegaglia and Danieli jointly announced the signing of an agreement related to the implementation of a major steelmaking and flat rolling facility investment in Fos-sur-Mer, France, with an overall contract value of approximately EUR 450M. The project, named the Mistral Project, represents the most relevant investment in Marcegaglia’ s history, in terms of upstream integration, stabilisation of the supply chain, value added expansion and decarbonisation. Once completed, the new plant will enable more than 2 million tons of annual production of liquid steel and up
4 th Vacuum Vessel sector is ready for ITER
The ITER Vacuum Vessel, the massive stainless-steel container that will house the fusion reaction, is made of nine slices, known as sectors. To manufacture these components, Fusion for Energy( F4E) is collaborating with the AMW consortium, formed by Ansaldo Nucleare, Westinghouse, and Walter Tosto. The teams completed the fourth of the series: Sector 3, ready to set sail from the Italian port of Ortona towards ITER. Given the acceleration of the ITER assembly plan, the teams had to adapt to a tighter deadline. Yhe European teams also took on more activities beyond the initial scope. This included re-machining the field joints, the edges where different sectors will be welded together, to prevent nonconformities. With delivery of Sector 3, Europe is entering the final stretch in the production of the most iconic components of ITER. The completion of the fifth and final one, Sector 2, is expected in autumn.
