Southern Energy signs a MoU with Axens

Fluor Corporation has been selected by America First Refining( AFR) to execute the front-end engineering and design( FEED) for its large-scale refining facility in Brownsville, Texas. The AFR facility is the first new refinery to be constructed in the United States in more than 50 years. The facility will leverage commercially proven technologies to cleanly and efficiently process American shale oil into gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. Upon completion, the refinery is expected to process more than 60 million barrels per year of domestic crude, supporting domestic energy resilience and cleaner fuel innovation.

Southern Energy Renewables Inc.( Southern), a U. S.- based producer of low-cost fuels made from biomass, has announced that Southern and Axens have signed a memorandum of understanding( MoU) to collaborate on the development of sustainable aviation fuel( SAF) and related fuel projects. Axens is a major provider of process technologies, equipment, catalysts, and services for the conversion of oil and biomass into cleaner fuels, renewable fuels and bio based chemicals, natural gas treatment, and carbon capture solutions. The company’ s portfolio includes more than 3,000 industrial units under license worldwide.

TKMS and Finkl Steel- Sorel, a member of Swiss Steel Group and a major Canadian manufacturer of high-performance forged steel components, have signed a Teaming Agreement aimed at strengthening industrial cooperation in support of Canada’ s future submarine capabilities. Under the agreement, the parties will jointly explore, develop and implement cooperation related to the melting and production of specialised stainless-steel material grade 1.3964 required for modern submarine platforms within the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project( CPSP). The parties will evaluate the path to qualify for the production of this specialised naval-grade material in accordance with applicable international naval standards. This includes meeting the technical requirements of the German Institute for Defence Materials and Production Technology( WIWeB) and the classification society Det Norske Veritas( DNV), as well as compliance with Construction Regulations 1050 for German Navy Ships issued by the Federal Office of Defence Technology and Procurement.
