vSM North America announces ISO 9001:2015 recertification
voestalpine Specialty Metals ( vSM ) North America proudly announces the successful completion of its recertification audit to the ISO 9001:2015 standard for its operations in Houston , TX , encompassing Metal Warehouse and Distribution of Alloy Steel and Special Metals , as well as Metals Processing . The audit concluded with unconditional approval and zero major or minor findings . Maintaining a steadfast commitment to quality , vSM consistently strives to surpass customer expectations . This recertification marks another milestone in its journey . vSM has held ISO 9001 certification since April 2015 , reflecting its enduring dedication to quality management . Embracing a culture of continual improvement , vSM ensures alignment with both its quality objectives and customer demands . Brian Van Burkleo , Vice President of Sales & Operations , underscores the team ’ s dedication , stating , “ At vSM , our mission extends beyond mere compliance with ISO standards . We are resolutely focused on exceeding them . Our paramount goal is to deliver unparalleled quality products and services consistently , thereby enhancing the customer experience indefinitely .” with new forms of stainless steel plays an important role in reducing overall greenhouse gas ( GHG ) emissions . In the food and beverage ( F & B ) industry , everything from dairy beverages to table sauces relies on homogenisation as part of its production process . Choosing Tetra Pak homogenizers with a Circle Green stainless steel hood offers F & B manufacturers a viable path to reducing their Scope 3 emissions , a vital yet challenging aspect of achieving net-zero goals . Depending on the model , using Circle Green on a Homogenizer will reduce the CO 2 emissions by between 160kg to 1370kg per machine . The Circle Green variant range offers the same benefits as the other Tetra Pak homogenizers in the line , such as durability , reliability , and ease of operation . This strategic collaboration with Outokumpu , the global leader in sustainable stainless steel , marks the beginning of a partnership that will see the two companies explore other applications of Circle Green across the Tetra Pak equipment portfolio . This work aims to further help F & B manufacturers achieve their sustainability goals and ensure compliance with evolving environmental regulations .
Farsoon introduces large-format 12-laser metal 3D printer
Tetra Pak expands homogenizer portfolio
Tetra Pak today announces the expansion of its homogenizer portfolio , offering machines with Outokumpu Circle Green ® stainless steel , a material that boasts a carbon footprint up to 93 % lower when compared to the global industry average for stainless steel . This innovative material will be available as an option for all models in Tetra Pak ’ s homogenizer line in Europe from June , before rolling out globally later in the year . With approximately 7 % of the world ’ s carbon dioxide emissions stemming from the global steel industry , innovating
Farsoon has unveiled a new large-format 12-laser metal 3D printer at TCT Asia 2024 , promising ‘ new manufacturing possibilities in large-scale industrial applications .’ The developer of industrial plastic laser sintering and metal laser melting systems says the FS811M features one of the biggest build volumes on the metal laser powder bed fusion market at 840 × 840 x 960mm ( 677 litres ), and can be equipped with either 6 , 8 , 10 or 12 x 500-watt fibre lasers . The news follows shortly after Farsoon announced its new SRS technology , which is said to enable the additive fabrication of inverted conical structures and horizontal circular holes with no support structures . Equipped with a full 12-laser capacity , the high-speed galvo system is said to offer a high production yield of up to 300cm3 / h , while an advanced multi-laser scanning strategy enables high efficiency distribution and calibration accuracy for uniform mechanical properties of large or high volumes of parts . A new multi-layer gas flow with an advanced wind-wall design has also been developed to ensure real-time particle removal throughout the whole chamber . The air tightness design of the build chamber enables extreme oxygen content , and low inert gas consumption during the build process for greater part quality consistency and reduced operational costs .
