Xiris launches XVC-310 ‘ Lipstick ’ Camera
Accufacture unveils Alchemist 1
Xiris Automation has released the XVC-310 , its newest High Dynamic Range ( HDR ) colour weld camera . Only 17 mm in diameter , the camera has been designed to remotely monitor orbital or narrow-gap TIG welding processes . The camera enables better welding process control and defect detection to correct material inputs such as wire feed , gas flow , seam or torch alignment and power variations . It can be configured with different optics to suit working distance and field of view setups and external lights to illuminate the work area when no weld is present . The camera is supplied with Xiris ’ WeldStudio software to perform camera controls , video display , playback and recording , graphical overlays , basic machine vision tasks and various data export options .

Accufacture , in collaboration with Meltio and FANUC America , has introduced Alchemist 1 , an innovative All-In-One Additive Manufacturing Robotic work cell made in the USA . Powered by Meltio ’ s cutting-edge Wire-Laser Metal Deposition ( W-LMD ) technology , Alchemist 1 delivers costeffective production of large , fully dense metal parts , catering to the needs of automotive , aerospace , mining , oil and gas , and various other sectors . Boasting an array of key features , including a deposition rate of up to 1 kg an hour , a spacious build volume of 3.2 ’ × 6.5 ’ × 3.2 ’, and compatibility with inexpensive welding wire feedstock , Alchemist 1 ensures both superior performance and affordability .

’ Automation Kit turns the HandySCAN 3D and MetraSCAN 3D portable 3D scanner families into fully-fledged solutions for automated quality control ( AQC ) applications . Outfitted with a collaborative robot ( cobot ) and all related equipment , the workstation allows the operator to use the 3D scanners in portable mode as well as in automated mode . The solution interfaces seamlessly with the VXscan-R digital twin environment and thus becomes an all-in-one , userfriendly system for anyone to use . Tranter has secured an order for a cutting-edge direct reduced iron ( DRI ), green steel plant set to be constructed in Germany . Tranter ’ s plate and frame heat exchangers will be used in the process to capture and separate the carbon dioxide coming from the energy intense steel production process . The order is for four large plate and frame heat exchangers in stainless steel with extra hard EPDM gaskets that will be used for heat recovery in the removal process of CO2 from a gas stream , carried out by absorption in a continuous process with regenerable solvents . The plant is a direct reduced iron ( DRI ) plant and can reduce the carbon footprint significantly compared to traditional steel plants by utilizing green hydrogen as energy and post combustion carbon capture technology , hence an important step in reaching the NetZero goals by 2030 .
