NNPC and Golar to build floating LNG plant in Nigeria
oil / condensate recoverable reserves above one billion barrels of oil equivalent . The concept selected for BM-C-33 is based on an FPSO ( Floating production storage and offloading unit ), capable of processing gas and oil / condensate and specifying these for sale without a need for further onshore processing . The FPSO ’ s production capacity is of 16 million cubic meters of gas per day with average exports expected of 14 million cubic meters of gas per day . Start-up is planned in 2028 . BM-C-33 will be Equinor ’ s second FPSO in Brazil using combined cycle gas turbines , significantly reducing carbon emissions during operations .
Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited signed an agreement with Norway ’ s Golar LNG to build a floating LNG plant in Nigeria . The agreement aims to deepen Nigeria ’ s domestic gas utilisation and enhance gas export . Golar LNG are the largest independent owners and operators of marine-based LNG midstream infrastructure . The LNG infrastructure is active in the liquefaction , transportation and regasification of natural gas . Nigeria ’ s huge natural gas reserves provide the nation with ready access to low-carbon energy to address energy poverty . The West African nation ’ s domestic gas infrastructure network can transport about 6.9 billion standard cubic feet ( scf ) of gas to support power generation and gas-based industries .

Equinor , Repsol Sinopec Brasil and Petrobras have taken the investment decision to develop the BM-C-33 project in Brazil . The investment is of approximately EUR 8.3bn . BM-C-33 comprises three different pre-salt discoveries Pão de Açúcar , Gávea and Seat containing natural gas and
SBM Offshore has signed a 10-year operations and maintenance enabling agreement with Esso Exploration & Production Guyana Ltd for the operations and maintenance of FPSOs Liza Destiny , Liza Unity , Prosperity and One Guyana . This framework agreement establishes the new terms related to the operations of the Guyana FPSO fleet for a period of 10 years up to 2033 . This contract supports SBM Offshore ’ s long-term business vision in Guyana enabling the company to perform local and sustainable investments in people and infrastructure as well as to deploy its digital and operational technologies to the Guyana fleet . The estimated impact on the revenue backlog is around EUR 2.8bn based on various operating and maintenance assumptions . SBM Offshore will operate the units through an Integrated Operation Model , which encompasses an organisation model including seconding ExxonMobil Guyana employees in some key onshore and offshore positions .
