Centravis introduces super-duplex steel pipes
Weltec Biopower constructed three 6850 cubic meter ( 1.8m USG ) duplex stainless-steel digesters for the new biomethane plant near Rice Lake . The plant is designed to process 207,000 metric tonnes of cattle manure annually ( 150,000 USG per day ), with some flexibility to incorporate future increases in herd size .
Nippon Steel obtains SuMPO EPD certifications
Centravis Production Ukraine is completing the development of a line of pipes made of duplex and super-duplex steel with increased corrosion resistance as part of its research and development division Centravis R & D and plans to offer them to the market in Q3 2025 . Centravis achieved double-digit sales growth , exceeding 14 thousand tons in total sales . The company continues to strengthen its leadership in key areas , in particular in the segments of automotive and tool pipes , nuclear energy pipes , and hollow bars . At the same time , Centravis is expanding its product portfolio with solutions for hydrogen and highpressure applications , developing new nickel alloys for harsh environments , and introducing Balev ® steel , an innovative alternative to standard grades . The company plans to increase production to 15 thousand tons in 2025 .
Weltec Biopower hands over dairy RNG plant in USA
Weltec Biopower has successfully completed the commissioning and handover of a dairy RNG ( Renewable Natural Gas / biomethane ) plant in Barron County , Wisconsin . After just four months of construction , the dairy farm produces 2.36 million standard cubic meters of RNG / biomethane annually ( 86,600 MMBTU per year ). This RNG is processed using advanced membrane-based gas upgrading technology to deliver 272 standard cubic meters per hour ( 159 SCFM ), which is compressed , bottled and transported to a gas grid injection point . This strongly carbonnegative RNG is drawn off the gas grid elsewhere , significantly enhancing the sustainability of the transportation fleets of the buyers .
In order to meet its customers ’ need to promote carbon neutrality , Nippon Steel Corporation ( Nippon Steel ) has newly obtained five “ SuMPO EPD ” ( former name : EcoLeaf ) certifications based on the SuMPO Environmental Labeling Program by the Sustainable Management Promotion Organization , a General Incorporated Association ( SuMPO ), for its steel pipes and tubes used in the chemical industry and for boilers . The steel pipes and tubes used in the chemical industry and for boilers have been widely used in the energy sector , including petroleum refining , petrochemicals , and electric power and gas supply , as materials that are known for their excellent corrosion resistance , heat resistance , and lowtemperature characteristics , even under severe environments . In recent years , there has been a growing demand from customers for decarbonization and new energy , such as nuclear power generation and high-pressure hydrogen applications . The company offers multiple lineups through NSCarbolexTM Solution , the highly functional products / solution technology that contributes to CO2 emission reductions in society . SuMPO EPD is an Environmental Product Declaration ( EPD ) certification system that uses the Life Cycle Assessment ( LCA ) methodology to show quantitative environmental information covering the entire lifecycle of a product , from resource extraction to manufacturing , distribution , use , discarding , and recycling . This certification system makes it possible for Nippon Steel ’ s customers to objectively assess the environmental impact in the lifecycle of steel pipes and tubes used in the chemical industry and for boilers as well as easier to accommodate the likes of the move to display CO2 emissions on procured goods , which will be a subject of attention going forward .
