Things have been moving fast for Devon Studio School. Our main focus has been on increasing people’s awareness of the school, most importantly, the awareness of parents and potential students. Our marketing campaign is underway, with recent editorials and advertising in the Herald Express, and some great coverage on Heart and Palm FM.
Even the MP for Totnes, Dr Sarah Wollaston, has included some information about the school on her website.
Our website has been completed and is now fully operational, with information about future events and the school in general. We’ve got our banners and pull-up display posters for events, which look great, and our presence on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter is gradually increasing. It’s great to be able to see what other educational and health-related initiatives are up to through these mediums. Further down the line, these platforms will be a brilliant way to interact with parents, students and employers, not just for the transference of information but for building contacts and networks within the structure of our academic and vocational curriculum.
The next big event on the calendar is our open day at the Horizon Centre at Torbay Hospital on the 1st of December. This will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in the school to get a proper sense of what we offer and how we are going to deliver it; there will be displays and demonstrations, and the opportunity to talk with the principal, Katherine Davis Wills.
Please encourage anyone who is interested in the school to come along; in the meantime, keep an eye on our website and social media for more information.
