Vestry Meeting
Rev Lesley-ann led the meeting of 3 October 2017 in prayer.
A warm welcome was extended to Bishop Gregor and for his continued
recuperation and return to full ministry.
The Bishop’s presence was to assist the vestry members to clarify matters of
a financial nature and all questions relating to resources and use thereof.
The anxiety related to the understanding of historic agreements, but the
Bishop was quite clear regarding the monies required to move from part-time
to full-time ministry and the resources and commitment available to and by
St Oswald’s.
Members of the vestry were reminded of the generous agreement to move
on with confidence and start an exciting period in their history.
A Q&A session took place and Bishop Gregor hoped that he had allayed
fears and concerns and proposed that any outstanding matters should be
discussed with the Diocesan Treasurer and our own accountants.
We were asked to pray for Primus Mark as the Scottish Episcopal Church
was being sanctioned.
The Bishop left and the business meeting began.
The minutes of September 2017 and accompanying papers had been sent
to Vestry members and were subsequently approved.
The usual reports were made to the meeting, Priest, finance and secretary
as well as children’s ministry, PVG Vulnerable Groups and property.
