2015 AGM Reports Vestry Report St. Oswald’s Vestry has met every month during the past year with the exception of August. For much of that time it was joined by three other members of the congregation to form the Patronage Committee, responsible for choosing our new Priest-in-Charge. Discussion about arrangements during the vacancy and the eventual appointment of the Rev. Lesley-ann Craddock were the main topics at these meetings. Once the appointment had been made the members of the Patronage Committee spent several entertaining days looking at possible houses for a new rectory before the one in Mary Slessor Wynd was finally purchased. During the year meetings were chaired either by Dorothy Nicholson or by Canon Scott Robertson, our Interim Priest-in-Charge. Thanks are due to both for the efficient and good-humoured way in which they did this. Meetings are now in the capable charge of the Rev. Lesley-ann. The Secretary is particularly grateful to her and to her husband, Ashley, who, to everyone’s relief, has taken on the job of Property Convener, for printing out their reports for meetings! Paula R Fleetwood, Vestry Secretary Pledged Giving Pledged giving by envelope or by direct debit. October 2014 – September 2015. Income from envelope has been £4,688 Income from direct debit has been £6806 Despite regretted deaths the total is £11, 494 This is both a welcome and valuable contribution to church funds. Robert Fleetwood. Prayer Group The Prayer Group has continued to meet throughout the year on the first and third Thursday afternoon of the month. Our numbers remain small but have increased in the last few months by the addition of our Priest-in Charge, the Rev. Lesley-ann. Looking back, it has occurred to me that in the 24 years since the Prayer Group first started she is only the second member of the clergy to come to meetings, Ulric Gerry being the first. StOM Page 14
