From INSPIRES ONLINE Primus signs Lambeth Declaration 2015 on Climate Change and comments on Laudato si’ – Papal Encyclical on the Environment The Most Rev David Chillingworth, Bishop of St Andrews, Dunkeld & Dunblane and Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church says: “The publication of this eagerly-awaited Encyclical is a major event in the shaping of the response of faith communities to environmental issues and climate change. Pope Francis calls for ‘a new dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet.’ He says that we need ‘a conversation which includes everyone.’ “This is a deeply thoughtful and challenging document. Referring to the increasingly ‘throw-away’ society in which many of us live, he says that we ‘have not yet managed to adopt a circular model of production capable of preserving resources for present and future generations’. “We hope that the forthcoming conference in Paris will deliver significant commitments on climate change from the world community. But, as Pope Francis reflects, this is not just a matter of politics for the ecological crisis, it ‘is also a summons to profound interior conversion’.” From the electronic newsletter from the Scottish Episcopal Church http://www.scotland.anglican.org/who-we-are/publications/inspires/ What’s On @ ST Oswald’s Monday 1000-1200 SEQUENCE DANCE H Warnock 01355 265233 1830-2030 TAE KWAN DO P Coyle 0774 778 9855 1900-2100 (Last/month) Kings Park Community Council Tuesday 1730 & 1930 Slimming World C Ellis 0773 353 8448 1930-2130 St Oswald’s Vestry (First/month) Wednesday 0930 Slimming World 1900-2200 SEQUENCE DANCE Thursday 1000-1200 SEQUENCE DANCE 1830-2030 TAE KWAN DO Friday 1900-2000 AA Contact James or Helpline 08475 697 555 2000-2200 Sequence Dance Contact: J Barr (01698-853652) StOM Page 15
