Homeless Connect Canberra is a winter event based on a one-stop-
shop model of service provision to homeless people. On August 8 at
11am- 3pm, private, public and community sector organisations will
come together to provide free services and products to Canberrans ex-
periencing homelessness. More importantly this event aims to connect
people with services to help them access housing. Where will it be:
Pilgrim House, 69 Northbourne Avenue, Canberra City. Pilgrim House
is home of Canberra City Uniting Church’s Early Morning Centre which
provides breakfast, support and referral every day of the year for peo-

How you can contribute items to the Early Morning Centre (EMC).
Winter coats only – in good condition: Deliver to Food Co-op and
Shop 3 Kingsley St Canberra City (in ANU). The coats are cleaned, put
on a rack and are taken each Tuesday to EMC.
Other clothing – in good condition: Deliver to ADRA OpShop Shop
2, 14 Lonsdale St Braddon (opposite Centrelink). EMC has vouchers to
give people for clothing.
New or as new thermals, tracksuit pants (2 or 3) only – can be
delivered directly in small quantities to the EMC, 69 Northbourne Ave-
nue (limited storage).
Blankets – deliver to any St Vincent de Paul location for inclusion in
their Night Patrol Van.
Crisis Food Packs – again, space is limited at Early Morning Centre.
Only the following food items will be welcomed at the EMC, 69
Northbourne Avenue before 2pm week-days:

2. Small tin of tuna
3. single pack of sultanas
4. can of baked beans
5. small pack of 3 teabags, 2 coffee sachets and 10 sugar sachets
6. single pack of cereal
7. individual fruit drink
8. single serve pack of fruit
9. muesli bar
10. sugar-free chewing gum
11. cup of soup
12.small UHT milk
