Alternative Facts

This year is only one month in and so much has changed , challenged our thoughts and hopefully made us look at who we are and what we represent .
There is no use pretending that there is not an awful lot of hate , intolerance , bigotry , and so many other negative attitudes being thrown at us . Every time we look or hear the news the barrage continues .
It does become hard to stay sensitive , compassionate and engaged to the world that surrounds us .
One of the articles I want to share with you is a commentary by Ross Gittens . He is kind enough to point out some positives about Malcolm Turnbull and then balances them out with some negatives .
None of us are perfect , we all have our flaws , but when we are in a position to influence the knowledge , thought and ideas of many we do have to be discerning in the morals , beliefs and ideals we portray .
In my studies one of the skills I was taught was to be critical of the information I was absorbing ... was it accurate ? Was it substantiated ? Are the rebuttals backed up with facts ? And so on …
The government ( both sides ) and the media are inundating us with so much misinformation and unsubstantiated " facts " and for the rest of us trying to sort out the wheat from the chaff is becoming harder and harder .
Jesus both followed the rules and was counter-cultural when it was not following the way of God . If Jesus was here today he would be upturning an awful lot of tables .
