Alternative Facts

This year is only one month in and so much has changed, challenged our thoughts and hopefully made us look at who we are and what we represent.
There is no use pretending that there is not an awful lot of hate, intolerance, bigotry, and so many other negative attitudes being thrown at us. Every time we look or hear the news the barrage continues.
It does become hard to stay sensitive, compassionate and engaged to the world that surrounds us.
One of the articles I want to share with you is a commentary by Ross Gittens. He is kind enough to point out some positives about Malcolm Turnbull and then balances them out with some negatives.
None of us are perfect, we all have our flaws, but when we are in a position to influence the knowledge, thought and ideas of many we do have to be discerning in the morals, beliefs and ideals we portray.
In my studies one of the skills I was taught was to be critical of the information I was absorbing... was it accurate? Was it substantiated? Are the rebuttals backed up with facts? And so on …
The government( both sides) and the media are inundating us with so much misinformation and unsubstantiated " facts " and for the rest of us trying to sort out the wheat from the chaff is becoming harder and harder.
Jesus both followed the rules and was counter-cultural when it was not following the way of God. If Jesus was here today he would be upturning an awful lot of tables.
