NEWS FROM YOUR SUPERINTENDENT
SUMMER 2018
As we begin our summer season, we
are really starting to hit the ground
running. We have recently finished
the construction of a nursery green
here at our maintenance facility.
Constructed to USGA specifications,
this green will serve as a perfect
site for healthy Tiffeagle to be
transplanted onto the course. To
achieve consistency from the
nursery green to greens on the
course, we have also installed golf
course irrigation heads. This will
ensure a smooth transition from
the nursery to greens in play. Once
fully established, this green will be
treated no differently from those
on the course as far as watering,
fertility, etc. Our goal for the
following months will be to grow
this green in and have the turf well
established before transplanting to
the course. Between late summer
into early fall will be the benchmark
for this process to begin. This will
ensure a smooth transition onto
the course. We hope to improve
the playability and aesthetics of the
greens, overtime, with this process.
