The Role of Physiotherapy
• What to Expect from Physiotherapy
• Receive a prognosis, diagnosis, short and long-term goals, and a plan of care.
• A physical evaluation and exam, includingcertain testing procedure and a healthy
history, evaluation of movement, posture, and flexibility of joint motion, muscle, or
performance.
• Receive recommendation of self-management.
• Receive physical treatment and interventions that are based on the evaluation
and diagnosis.
• Conditions
• Trigger finger and carpal tunnel syndrome can be treated through hand therapy.
• Conditions related to cardiopulmonary, such as chronic obstructive cystic fibrosis,
pulmonary diseases, or post-myocardial infarction.
• Conditions like spinal cord injuries, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease,
traumatic brain injuries, and vestibular dysfunction.
• Pelvic floor dysfunction and women’s health, such as lymphedema and urinary
incontinence.
