BOARD GAMES IN FORM IV

By Gregory Davis
Recently, the Form IV class finished reading The Captain ' s Dog by Roland Smith. The book is about Lewis and Clark ' s westward journey across America, which began in St. Louis, Missouri. The title of the book, Captain ' s Dog refers to Captain Lewis ' dog, Seaman, who accompanied them on their journey and helped them in many ways.
After we read the 291-page-book, we completed assignments, consisting of essays and paragraphs, based upon what we had learned from the story. We were also rewarded for reading it, so we got to do something fun.
Mrs. Schmitz divided the class into groups of three and four. Each group teamed up to make a board game with twenty real events that occurred in the story. When we were all finished, we played each other’ s board games. It was so interesting to see the different and creative board games that everyone came up with, and it was fun playing each and every one of them! Thanks, Mrs. Schmitz!!
