As a professional learned society , membership is the backbone of this organisa on and provides SRP with its widespread knowledge and resources . It is fundamental to the Society ' s interest , and in the public interest , to a ract and retain members from diverse backgrounds and at all career stages . A diverse membership is a strong membership , and the Society must reflect the diversity seen in the workplace , recognising , respec ng and benefi ng from our members ' different backgrounds , exper se and experiences . Radia on protec on ( RP ) and allied professionals in all roles within the workforce must be able to reap the benefits of membership of SRP . The Society must be inclusive and listen and respond to the needs of its membership . The Society must ensure that younger RP and allied professionals are involved in SRP business , including through engagement with the Rising Genera ons Group . In addi on , SRP must ensure that the knowledge a ained by our experienced members is passed on to their peers and the next genera on .
The Society can , through strong membership , support the current and future sustainability of the RP profession . We can strive to support , equip and enable our members as they engage with radia on protec on in all spheres of life . With strong membership also comes financial stability and available income to support and finance our Mission objec ves – i . e . our Charter .
