The party left for Mysore from Bangalore and it was nearing the outskirts of the City at
about 3 P.M. They met the advance party H. H. The Jeer of Parakala Mutt had sent in a car
to meet the Ghanta and pilot the same to Chamaraja Circle near the palace where the
reception had been arrang ed. As the party neared the palace, they saw the palace honors,
Raja’s cavalry, Infantry, Band and representatives of His Highness together with the special
honors from the Parakala Mutt standing ready for reception.
Even as the car carrying the Ghanta stopped at the place of reception, His Holiness arrived in
a palanquin. The asphalt road was so hot that most of the party on getting down from the
cars fled towards tree shades unable to bear the heat. His Holiness got down from the
palanquin and such was his Desika Bakthi that he fell flat on the scorching asphalt road
offering his pranamams to the Ghanta. The Ghanta was taken in procession to the Parakala
