॥ श्रीः॥ ु ॥ श्रलक्ष्मरहयवदन लक्ष्मरनारायण वेणगोपाल परब्रह्मणे नमीः॥ ु ॥ श्र शठकोप रामानज देशशके भ्यो नमीः॥ ु ॥ श्र ब्रह्मतन्त्र स्वतन्त्र परकाल गरुपरम्परायै नमीः॥ Srimadabhinava Srinivasa Brahmatantra Swatantra Parakala Swamy Avatara Vaibhavam In purvashramam, Swamy was known as Vidya-visharada, Aagama Vidvan Sri Kasturi Srinivasarangacharya. He was the eldest son of the great scholar Tarkateertham Panditaratnam Asthana-dharmadhikari Sri Kasturi Rangacharya, the fame of whose scholarship had breached the shores of Sethu and had conquered the peaks of the Himalayas on the other side. Let us now delve on the nectarine greatness of Swamy’s father. Glorious lineage Sriman Kasturi Rangacharya – Swamy’s revered father Sriman Kasturi Rangacharya was born in the year Rudhirodgari. While still in the womb of his mother, his father had to set out on a long yatra. As a young child, Sriman Kasturi Rangacharya was in the care of his maternal grandfather and spent his toddler years at Holavanahalli. By the time the child was eight, Sri Ranganatha Brahmatantra Parakala Swamy had ascended the Acharya peetam. The Acharya arranged for the upbringing of Sriman Kasturi Rangacharya under his care. He got the child initiated into brahmopadesham and took him into his tutelage. From aksharabhyasam to shastrabhyasam, Sriman Kasturi Rangacharya’s education continued unabatedly at the Matham. At a very young age, Sriman Kasturi Rangacharya passed the Tarkashastra vidvat examination at the Maharaja’s samskrta pathashala with distinction. He performed saanga kalakshepam of all the Vedanta granthas under Sri Ranganatha Brahmatantra Parakala Swamy. His intellectual acumen was immense and was really unmatched. Sri Parakala Swamy, having seen the intellect and scholarship of Sri Kasturi Rangacharya had prophesized that he would come to be regarded as a scholar of great merit in the entire land beginning from the shores of sethu-samudram all the way till the peaks of the Himalayas. This turned out to be resoundingly true. By the time Swamy was twenty years of age, he had studied all the shastras and beamed with immeasurable knowledge. Sriman Kasturi Rangacharya undertook a pilgrimage to the northern bharatavarsham. It was his ardent desire to meet the scholars at various centers of learning and knowledge. It was also his intention to engage with them in scholarly discourses on scriptures and debates as a flag bearer of Srisampradayam and Sri Parakala Asthanam. Kashi was the most famous amongst the centers of learning. To come out victorious in debates and discourses from Kashi vidwat sabhas was not an easy accomplishment for every other scholar. It was the honor that only a chosen few could claim. Such was the depth of the scholarship of vidwans who resided there. Kasturi Rangacharya was one of those distinguished scholars who won G-35
