Speech # 1 Project 3 from ‘Advance Communicator’, Silver Manual, delivered by Ansar Mohideen on 23rd October 2012. Objectives of the Speech : Poke fun at particular person in a good natured way The Roast It was a chilly, windy and dark December morning in Bahrain. I was in the office early as usual. I saw a figure slowly making its way towards the IT building. When this figure tore away the darkness and appeared in front of me I realized it was nothing but indeed a human. He asked me where IT Department was. He introduced himself as a new recruit to the IT department from Sri Lanka By and large, he was big, large and very slow. It was hard for me to believe that, out of millions of sperm, he was the fastest. He was interested in doing large projects that took years to complete. The projects he got were all small projects with a month or two month duration. Yet he made them all big projects by completing them in more than 1year. He is very good at everything he does. Unfortunately, he doesn't do anything. Once I invited him to come with me to go to a fitness centre where I had tickets for the swimming pool. We went and had some fun in the swimming pool, fun swimming in the pool. I spent more time in the pool since my son was with me. Then I noticed a beautiful lady with exceptional figures was standing below the shower in one corner. Her back side was open and the water was flowing from her long hair. Fascinated by this but alerted by the surroundings I slowly got closer to the lady and put my hand on her shoulder to get her attention. I annoyed to see my friend standing there. However he came to IT with a leash of fresh air. He is the person who made us realize that there is life beyond our wives. After seeing him during his best days in Adliya, I realized, recognized and regretted bringing my family to Bahrain. I had a terrible time as an email administrator with this colleague. He invented new ways of using the technology. He used to send email to his wife and girlfriend at the same time. I get confused deciding which email to be released to which lady. But he handled both of them with great passion. He has decided to leave Bahrain shortly. He leaves this job due to illness. His boss got sick of him. However I am going to miss my good friend toastmaster Zaharan Haleed. I admire one noble quality in him that inspired me greatly. When he came across something good for him, he shared that with his friends and even persuades them to go towards those good things. He always gave priority to help, guide and persuade others. He introduced me to Toastmasters is a testimony for his desire to bri ng the best out of his friends. I appreciate the wonderful relationship or rather friendship to be precisely I had with Zaharan and wish him a great future ahead. 9
