Greetings.
Whenever I hear about Sri Lanka
Club Symposium Toastmasters (SLCS),
instantly a number of notable names will
spring out in my mind. I can easily recall
Distinguished Toastmasters Ahmed Rizvi and
Mohd Salie. These distinguished personalities
and a few other leaders propelled the club to
its prominence and continue to be amongst
the best contributors to the growth of
Toastmasters in the region.
I first set foot at the Sri Lankan Club through
an invitation of my friend DTM Fe Gutierrez
in 2005. The purpose of the invitation is to
“take pictures” of the Division C Conference
Committee. During that time, I was being
lured to “go beyond the club”. Since that
fateful day, I literally “went beyond my home
club”, joined and participated in many
district wide activities.
I have attended
many more SLCS
meetings
afterwards.
I should then be grateful for SLC Toastmasters for contributing to my later career in
Toastmasters. I have attended many more
SLC meetings afterwards. One of the
fascinating spectacle and pride of every SLC
Toastmasters meeting is its adherence to
‘parliamentary procedures’ and various
‘Toastmasters protocols’. This makes SLCS
TM with a BIG Difference. The passion and
dedication of its leaders ensure the legacy
continues.
I look forward to seeing and meeting many
more leaders from SLCS Toastmasters.
