Fantasy Premier League:

A Beginner ' s Introduction

For football fans around the world, Fantasy Premier League, or the FPL, serves as a revolutionary, one-of-a-kind source of football entertainment unlike other games such as EAFC and PES, operating based on real-life events from the largest league in the world: the English Premier League.

Groundbreaking Mechanisms
FPL operates like real-life football – you are building your own fantasy team: a full starting 11 with 3 substitutes. However, realistically, each team has a strict budget restriction of £ 100 million at the beginning of the season – after all, the game has to remain financially fair to avoid certain cheaters like Manchester City violating at least 115 instances of FFP and PSR.
Each player has a set price at the beginning of the season depending on their performances, but it could fluctuate up or down by £ 0.1 million each gameweek accordingly – so if a player drops four first-half goals like Cole Palmer against Brighton, expect the price to rise; if they deliver a disasterclass reminiscent of Joshua Zirkzee against Brighton( once again), expect the price to fall. This makes players have the hard decision of balancing expensive assets and cheap differentials for the“ perfect team”... or one that just gets the job done for the upcoming gameweek.
Each gameweek, your FPL team is put to the test – the starting players’ statistics in their respective real-life games would be measured, which would translate into accumulated points. Whilst one nominated captain will earn double points, the four bench players will not contribute towards the final points – so there might be some frustration involved for sure.

If you are unsatisfied by a certain player not matching expectations, you could transfer them out in exchange for another player of the same position. However, each gameweek only gives one free transfer with subsequent transfers costing 4 points off the final score; additionally, free transfers could be saved no more up to five, so don’ t expect 15 free transfers after missing half the season for“ strategic reasons”!
