On March 7, 2025, Shanghai Livingston American School hosted its first-ever secondary sports day under the facilitation of the student council. Despite the 21 year history of the school, it has never hosted a sports day for secondary. Yet, many students were desperate to see this happen. As a result, the student council of the 2024-2025 school year requested the school for a special event, and the school made a big decision to do so. They fostered the school spirit.

Shanghai Livingston American School, also known as SLAS, is one of the oldest international schools in Shanghai. Since its inception, SLAS has hosted an annual sports day for the international primary department and the Japanese enriched department. Primary students could experience such entertainment for around 5 to 6 years. However, once they got into secondary, they were no longer able to have this experience. Students were too busy handling their work, and the school had other commitments, making this event unnecessary. Numerous individuals have been asking for secondary sports day, but it never came to fruition.
