The Glenview Ice Center Skate School is a United Skates
Figure Skating program. Called the LEARN TO SKATE
USA program, it is the best beginning and continuing
ice skating program that serves the needs of both
recreational and competitive skaters.
Spring Figure Skating Classes:
March 5-May 2 (8 weeks)
Figure skating classes will not meet during Spring Break,
March 21 and 26.
PRIVATE LESSONS
All of our experienced figure skating professionals at the Glen-
view Ice Center teach private lessons. All instructors are CER
certified through Learn to Skate USA and certified by the U.S.
Center of Safesport. For more information, call 847-724-2800.
Note: Instructor approval is required for all Basic 2 and higher
classes. Children must successfully complete prior level class
before advancing to the next level.
The Skating Director and instructional staff will evaluate skaters
as to the level they may skate. Please be aware that your child
may not automatically advance to the next level after one session.
SNOWPLOW SAM PROGRAM (AGES 4-5 YRS.)
The Snowplow Sam levels are designed to help the preschool
age skater develop preliminary coordination and strength to
maneuver on the ice.

BASIC SKILLS PROGRAM 1-6 (AGES 6-12 YRS.)
These six levels of the program introduce the fundamental
moves of the sport. Upon successful completion of the
Basic levels, skaters will advance into the Free Skate levels.
BASIC 1
For those who have never skated or had formal lessons.
Elements: falling and getting up, marching, 2 foot glides, for-
ward swizzles, backward wiggles, beginning snowplow stops

✔ ✔ Figure skating and hockey programs are located at
Jet Hockey Arena, 1820 Pickwick Ave., Glenview.
✔ ✔ Current participants may begin registering for Ice Center
figure skating classes after being evaluated. Allow 48
hours after evaluation to register online.
