Pediatric and Adult CPR / First Aid / AED Training ( Blended Learning ) - NEW The purpose of the American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR / AED program is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac , breathing and first aid emergencies . The courses in this program teach skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over .
This course is offered as Blended Learning
• Combination of online learning and in-person skills session
• Content equivalent to traditional course with less time spent in a classroom
• Individuals re-certifying can pre-test out of content they know
• Self-paced training can be completed around work responsibilities

Basic Life Support ( BLS ) - NEW The purpose of the American Red Cross Basic Life Support course is to ensure that individuals with a duty to respond ( public safety professionals and healthcare providers ) have the requisite knowledge and skills to respond to patients who are experiencing respiratory and cardiac arrest and airway obstruction . The emphasis is on providing highquality care integrating psychomotor skills with the skills of critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes .
Intended Audience for this course :
• Public safety personnel , such as first responders ( law enforcement officers and firefighters ), emergency medical responders ( EMRs ), emergency medical technicians ( EMTs ), advanced EMTs ( AEMTs ) and paramedics
• Medical personnel , such as pharmacists , nurses , physicians , physician assistants , nurse practitioners , dentists , and students entering the field
• Members of emergency response teams , such as athletic trainers , corporate response
