Greetings from Our Law Enforcement Partners

The DeKalb County Sheriff ’ s Office supports the success of incarcerated men and women who indicate an interest in changing their circumstances to positively impact their behavior and their outcomes .
Through our DeKalb County Jail inmate services programs , we have created opportunities for interaction with individuals while in our custody and as they transition back into the community . We focus our resources on meeting their basic needs , with an objective of paving the way for the achievement of their ultimate goals .
Melody M . Maddox Sheriff , DeKalb County
Greetings , It is an honor to serve as a Co-Chair of the Steering Committee for the Reentry Division with the Department of Community Services . I have been an attorney with the Public Defender ’ s Office for over 34 years and have witnessed the devastating collateral consequences a conviction can have for a person and their loved ones . The important work being done by the DCS Reentry Division is critical to helping people become successful members of their community . As a Co-Chair , I support all the efforts of the Reentry Division to address the needs of formerly incarcerated persons such as employment , clothing , housing , legal , and healthcare . I am grateful to our many community partners and to the steadfast determination of Ms . Sharon Almon , DCS Community Coordinator , to help people in need . I am proud to be part of this important collaboration as we work to enhance public safety by connecting people to services that will strengthen our communities .
Respectfully yours , Claudia S . Saari Circuit Public Defender
