Hope springs eternal . After 15 long months of social distancing , facemasks , lockdowns and separations from our family and loved ones , it appears relief is finally on the horizon .
With this report I ' m delighted to announce to all our members throughout District 8 , Training Center Cape May , ( TRACEN ) is once again open to Auxiliarists . I ' m confident that very soon base command will reinstitute the family breakfast program and base tours . The Auxiliary will once again resume it ' s long standing tradition of working side by side with the active duty .
Meanwhile throughout the district , from the Delaware River to Manasquan and Point Pleasant , Flotillas can finally begin gearing up for an active VE and Program Visitor Season . Boating Safety Classes have resumed , and Coxswain and Crew are preparing their facilities for an active season on the water .
Finally , a personal and sincere thank you to all Flotilla Commanders during these difficult days . For so many of you , you have been the eyes , ear , sounding board , and the link in the chain that has kept our Auxiliary in tact and ready to respond . Through adversity we grow in strength and in our resolve . Your dedication and commitment as volunteers during difficult days is a testament to the core values of being good citizen and proud American . It remains my honor to serve as your D-CAPT .
