This semester, I read Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King. When I read this book, I couldn’t put it down. The plot kept me on the edge of my seat as I wondered what was going to happen next. The author knew how to keep the story interesting, as he always does with his books. I’ve read two other Stephen King books, and Mr. Mercedes was different from those other two. I’ve always thought of Stephen King as a writer of horror or supernatural type books, and that’s why I found this one to be surprising. It was an easy read at only 436 pages, compared to another that I read, which was over 1,000 pages and it was a horror novel.

In the novel, the point-of-view switches between the detective and the killer. As the book progressed, the plot became very suspenseful. The plot becomes a race-against-time and creates some serious tension.

In conclusion, this was an enjoyable book. The writing was well done, the characters felt real, and the story was interesting all the way through. If you’re ever looking for a good suspense/thriller novel, you might want to consider picking up Mr. Mercedes.
