Thanks to our Friends Group Since our last newsletter, the Friends of West Hatch have been busy supporting the Centre by purchasing items which make a world of difference to the animals in our care and by providing ongoing financial support to adopters. Thanks to our Friends group, we now have: • Memory foam beds For our elderly and large dogs to make their stay in kennels more comfortable. pit ing the sand Shiloh enjoy • New gazebos To replace the ones that were damaged beyond repair during our Easter Egg Trail due to inclement weather. • Water bowsers To enable us to fill in the pools and water bowls in our dog exercise areas. • New pig arks To replace our existing, tired ones as part of our new pig field development. • Stuffed dogs To help us assess canine behaviour more effectively and safely. • Cat activity centres To keep our moggies entertained. • Overnight treatment room To add a hatch to the existing room so resident dogs could have access to a secure outside run. • Sandpits and paddling pools To provide enrichment and stimulation for the dogs in our care. • Gravel To create borders around the waterfowl paddocks to help with water quality and disease control. The Friends Group have also provided support for the following: • Microchipping days Fully sponsored our microchipping events so we could offer the service free of charge to members of the public. • Adoptions Lifelong supply of Apoquel for Tara the Labrador who was adopted and suffers from recurring itchy skin. 12 Roxy exploring the pool
