Abandoned in a box:
Unwanted cats find loving homes
Back in November 2015, seven terrified
cats were found abandoned in a cardboard
box in Thurlbear woods by a dog walker.
The box, which was taped up and had
stones placed on top of it, was tucked
back in the undergrowth just off the path.
The man managed to get the box into his
car just as it fell apart. Unfortunately a
young grey cat escaped and ran back into
the woods and has sadly never been found
despite a few sightings.
The remaining six cats were retrieved
from the gentleman’s car where they
had hidden under seats and in the boot
space and were settled into the cattery.
Staff were surprised to find that they
were all incredibly friendly cats who were
unfortunately not microchipped. Despite
