Cat cabin appeal For many years the cats in the cattery have benefited from using our lovely cat cabin. It is a place where the staff and volunteers can take both adult cats and kittens for some time away from their pens. Inside there is a sofa, arm chairs, climbing shelves and even a stereo playing calming music. Although the inside of the cabin is interesting for the cats, the garden outside is quite bare and with little enrichment for them. Earlier this year we came up with ideas to change this outside area for the better. Our plan is to expand the garden and provide a natural area to explore with lots of cat-friendly shrubs. There will also be shelves, different textures and levels, a sheltered area and even a water fountain. To help us achieve all of this we would really appreciate donations of the following: • Cat-friendly shrubs: Buddleia, Lavender, Mexican Orange Blossom, Catnip, Lavatera Rosea, Clematis, Sunflower seeds, Thyme, Hardy Fuchsia • An electric water feature • A wooden bench 9
