Bergamo Orio al Serio International Airport is one of the most important Italian aiports with a really impressive low cost activity. The airfield is located a few kilometers from Bergamo city and it si easily accesible from Italy and Europe thanks to its network of low cost flights and its position near the highway. The airport was born as an Air Force base in 1939 and during WWII Italian Air Force and Luftwaffe based there their aircrafts. After the war, Italy Air Force used the airport establishing a squadron (8th Group of 2nd Wing) equipped with North American P-51 Mustang first, then with De Havilland DH-100 Vampire. In 1970 was created Sacbo, a company established to support the civil activities in the airport.
