Maths Week News
This week at St. Andrews we have been celebrating
Maths week. Our aim has been to get the children
excited about mathematics and increase awareness
of how maths can be used in our everyday lives. In
Early Years, students participated in a variety of
activities such as patterns and shapes day. In the
Primary School, planned daily challenges
encouraged students to solve problems and puzzles
using logic. Children were out and about doing maths
trails and scavenger hunts; code breaking; making
dice and number jacks and using ICT to support their
maths learning. A great time was had by all!

The Learner Profile - Risk Taking
Our children have been out and about and have
been involved in activities where they have had to
take some risks and move out of their comfort zones
to try new experiences and overcome new
challenges. We encourage children to be risk-takers
by: trying new things; not being afraid to make
mistakes; and not always doing or saying things just
because others are.
Risk-Taker
I have confidence to try
new things.
I stand up for the things I
believe in.
