Y5 Khao Kheow Trip
Year 5 visited Khao Kheow Open Zoo for 3 days at
the end of September as part of their unit work on
endangered species.
Friday, 4th October, 2013
Cael " I was a good communicator because I asked a
lot of questions and spoke to lots of new people... I
will always remember it and feel proud of myself
when I think about it."
Jennifer " Zoos are important because they help the
animals keep safe from their enemies. They take care
of them so people can look at them. Khaow Kheow is
helping endangered species by saving animals from
poachers who want to take their body parts."
Aslan " I wonder what animals at the zoo feel about
being in the same place all the time and sometimes
seeing annoying people?" …and….
"I am really proud of Kong because he learned how
to show everybody he was important and that he
communicated with everybody (he wasn't shy
anymore)."
Year 5 students had the following thoughts to share
after their time at Khao Kheow:
Megan "On our trip to Khao Kheow Zoo, I was a
polite and enthusiastic learner. I was also a risk taker
and an independent learner. I felt really proud on the
'flight of the gibbon' when near the end, there was a
really long zip line and I was terrified- but when I did
it, it was fun. I was also really proud of Arvind."
Arvind " I was really proud of myself for doing the
flight of the gibbon, even though I was scared and
cried. This trip will make a difference to my life
because I flew above the jungle for the first time in
my life. "
International Day
International Day is fast approaching! A reminder
that on Friday 18th October at 8.50am we invite
parents and children to join our Parade of Nations.
Parents are also invited to attend our International
Day Picnic at 11.20 and our International Day
Assembly between 1.45pm and 2.40 pm.
International Day is a day of sharing, as we celebrate
our cultural diversity and learn about many different
countries and their customs. Come along and join
the fun – we look forward to seeing you there!
