International Family Link
International Family Link is a wellestablished programme run by the
International Office at the University of
Nottingham, which invites local people to
offer hospitality to international students.
Many students complete their course with
limited experience of British life and culture
outside the University and so getting to
know local people who are willing to offer
hospitality can be an important part of their
experience in the UK.
The programme is intended for mature
international students, academic visitors
and sponsored researchers (aged over
25) whose studies will last for 9 months or
more. Students can apply for the scheme
with their spouse and/or children.
The programme is always very popular and
we usually have more students asking to
take part than there are places available.
We are currently recruiting hosts for the
start of this academic year who would
be interested in offering hospitality on a
voluntary basis. A variety of people act as
hosts from single people to couples and/or
families.

We have found the enjoyment the hosts
get out of meeting people from culturally
different backgrounds is as widely reported
as the benefits the students feel.
