third year at varsity, I want
to become more of a lead-
er, create more goals and
score some.”
Since stepping on the
pitch, Kozak has been the
center of attention for
the Falcons - and he’s find
with that. Everything runs
through the talent mid-
fielder. While you could
say he is a Andrea Pirlo out
there - commanding the
offense - you could say he
brings a little nastiness to
his game like Xavi Alonso
or some flare like Neymar.
Either way he likes to sit
and pick out his passes,
like a Danielle De Rossi.
“Xavi Alonso and Ney-
mar are two very different
player,” stated Kozak. “But
I play midfield so I sit back
more and pick out my pass-
es. But when it’s comes to
one on one battles I add
flare into my game.”
Adding flare is some-
thing Frontier hasn’t seen
in awhile. Kozak is the per-
fect midfielder for his dad’s
system - which is based off
the European game. Amer-
ican soccer is based more
on being athletic, and able
to make runs at all times.
American soccer isn’t tech-
nical.
The European game is
all about being technical.
The game is based on quick
passes and quick deci-
sions. The midfielders are
tasked at running the tem-
po of the game and making
sure they pick out the right
person.
Being able to scan the en-
tire field in a second is very
important in this style of
play. Kozak plays perfectly
in this system. He is able to
pick out the right person
and has the vision to do
damage when he needs to.
“Vision is very important
and I think is one of the
best parts of my game,” ex-
plained Kozak. “The game
is much faster at the var-
sity level, and you need to
know where you’re going
and where the space is on
the field before you get the
ball.”
Kozak didn’t just get this
good playing soccer for
the Hamburg programs.
He has been able to ply his
trade for one of the best
leagues in the area at Glob-
al Premiere Socce
