When you have talent there
is a lot expected of you. A lot of
people expect you to be a sav-
ior for a team that has strug-
gled for some many years.

What people forget, how-
ever, is just how young and
how much pressure can
be put on a young kid and
a very young age. Weth-
er they are good or not,
they still need to grow into
a leadership role on the
team.
You don’t see many fresh-
man step right in and
command the field, or the
dressing room. They are
building into becoming a
great leader both on and
off the field. What a young
player can do is work hard.
Working hard gets the at-
tention of the younger and
older players on the team.
They know your serious
about the game, and about
doing whatever it takes to
win games - and titles.
For Frontier High School’s
Jonah Kozak a lot was ex-
pected of him when he en-
tered the varsity level three
years ago. Maybe it was the
fact his dad was a coach on
the junior varsity before
taking over the reigns of
varsity last year, or maybe
it was talent in the mid-
field that that grabbed ev-
eryone’s attention.
Whatever it was, Kozak
has been one of the build-
ing blocks for a team that
has been in rebuilding
mode. That made progress
last year under coach Rich
Kozak. And, now with a
second year knowing the
system, it’s time for both
Jonah Kozak and Frontier
to take the next step.
“First off the team has to
win and do well that is most
important,” stated Kozak.
