MANZIEL WINS HEISMAN TROPHY

Manziel ended up winning the Heisman though, because his season was just a little better than the rest. Manziel recorded 43 overall touchdowns this year, and his 4,600 yards smashed the Southeastern Conference record for total offense. Manziel led the Aggies to a 10-2 record and will play in the Cotton Bowl against the Oklahoma Sooners on January 4th.

said, gesturing to Flutie, the former Boston College quarterback who was onstage with other previous Heisman winners.

Manziel has a few years left in college and we may be witnessing the beginning of a once-in-a-lifetime career from Manziel. We could see 'Johnny Football' join former Ohio State Runningback Archie Griffin as the only multi-year winners in Heisman history. Manziel is only going to get better as he matures in life, and on the field.

''You can put his numbers up against anybody who has ever played the game,'' says Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin, and he's correct. Manziel's stellar play this year made him the first freshman, first SEC player and fifth player overall to throw for 3,000 yards and run for 1,000 in a season.

As for the Heisman, Manziel said he'd like to keep it right next to his bed.

''But I'm in college. A lot of people come through the house. We live in a college neighborhood. It might not be a good idea. If I can get a case that's indestructible, locked and looks pretty good, we'll see where I keep it,'' he said.

"This is a moment I've dreamed about since I've been a kid, running around the backyard pretending to be Doug Flutie, pretending I was throwing Hail Marys to my dad," Manziel

"It's such an honor to represent Texas A&M and my teammates here tonight," Manziel said in his Heisman acceptance speech in New York. "I wish they could be on the stage with me."

Manziel leads the Aggies to a 10-2 record and becomes the first freshman to ever win the Heisman.
