It has also been a delight to see the development through
the junior system in Bracknell, run by the Bracknell Ice Hockey
Club, of some of the younger members of the Bees
squad. A major portion of the current squad have
developed through and played in the junior
systems here at Bracknell and have now
made their way through to the senior
squad. This is a reflection on not
just the individual players hard
work and efforts but also that
the junior system in Bracknell is
one of the best in the country.
Looking forward to the
New Year and 2016 the club
are looking to fight hard to
secure a play-off spot, which
is something we truly believe
we can achieve, despite the
issues we are currently facing,
because we have a fantastic
group of players who are
willing to give their all for that
goal. At the end of this campaign
we will be looking to recruit well
and enter next season with a stronger
foundation to build - onwards and
upwards.
For anyone looking to get involved with this
great club then then our first message is please get in
touch with us. We are always on the lookout for new sponsors,
be it companies or individuals, and welcome all levels of input.
We are also looking for people who are willing to help with
our Supporters Club or volunteer group (called the Bees Street
Team). The volunteers we currently have do a fantastic job of
supporting the team in a variety of different and valuable ways
but we always welcome more to expand the work that
the current group already do.
Looking to the future, as best as one
can, the stability of both the club and
league in which it plays are the two
key challenges. UK ice hockey,
especially in the English Premier
League is financially challenged
in that no club makes a profit
and simply making ends meet
can sometimes be a tough
proposition. All teams have
had and continue to have
their ups and downs and
trying to balance that with
keeping paying fans satisfied
with the on-ice product also
can present challenges.
The club however continues
to strive to meet the current
owner’s original objectives that
they stated upon takeover. We
are seeking to make the club visible,
vibrant and viable and return it to its
former glories by challenging for silverware
and, if the circumstances are right, playing in
the top tier of ice hockey in the UK the Elite league.
