This should provide them with a solid
platform from which to build as they look
ahead towards the rest of the campaign. As
long as they can retain their current group
of riders and build some momentum with
some positive results they should be in for
a successful campaign.
Many of their early season meets have been
in the League Cup and their performances
there have generally been encouraging
with three wins and two defeats. In this
competition they have highlighted their
ability to compete with any side when they
are in good form which should help to
build confidence.
They received a welcome boost
recently when it was confirmed that
the signing of Matthew Wethers had
been formally approved by the BSPA
Management Committee. Speaking to
www.workingtoncomets.co
after
the
confirmation team manager Tony Jackson
said, “You have to submit any team
changes a minimum of three clear days
before their intended debut, which we did,
and as such we did not expect there to be
any problems - however, it is always good
to get official notification that your new
line-up has been formally approved.”
There is much to admire about the
fantastic set up that Workington Comets
currently has in place and it promises
to be an exciting season for everyone
involved with the club. Everyone at Sport
in Profile Magazine would like to take this
opportunity to wish them the best of luck
for the rest of the campaign.
