The way to a man's heart is through his chest... or is it his stomach?

Over the New year period, we went to the Kings Arms in Cartmel, South Lakeland. Now Cartmel is host to many pubs, gastro pubs and resturants such as the Royal Oak and L'enclume; the famous award winning resturant ran by Simon Rogan.

The Kings Arms, is situatied in the small counrty village of Cartmel. This location is prime for local produce and local support. The pub is, what is known as a gastro pub, it offers good ale and evn better food.

I opted for the tempura prawns to start with. This came with a rice noodle salad with raddish slices throughout. The prawns were cooked to perfection and the tempura batter nice and crispy, the only fault I can think of is that I couldn't get enough.

Kate had the Ham Hock with crisp breads and salad, As I'm not a fan of Ham Hock I didn't try this dish however it looked amazing served on a local slate with small dishes of picallily.

A great family dining experience but ccan also be a classy romantic meal for you and a loved one. Nestled in the heart of the lakeland countryside, this little gastro pub gives you a real taste of the countyside
